Hello, I'm Charlotte..

I am here to witness you in the most earth altering, transformative moments of your life and make them infinitely more joyful, supported and grounded. I am the nurturer, the calm, and the mirror you require in order to be fully present, fully held and fully alive in this transformation. 

I am a lover, a survivor and a mother. My passion to be a doula is deeply rooted in my healing from cancer in my early twenties. A lot of my life prior to cancer had been spent in fear of ‘something going wrong’, I often robbed myself of joy with intrusive thoughts that took me out of the present moment. When I was diagnosed with cancer, it was as if all of a sudden that fear had been realised and it was no longer looming in the background.

It was right there in my reality and I had to choose how I was going to show up. I didn’t feel a victim to the disease, I felt the choices and the options in my hands. I chose to let go of what I knew about cancer, I let go of other’s experiences and just focused on my own journey.

I was going to redefine my greatest fear for myself. I allowed the feelings to reveal themselves as they came. Anger, sadness, overwhelm and despair were expected and experienced. But what I didn’t expect was the greatest joy, the deepest connections, and the breaking down of not only my own walls, but loved ones too, as I became the most vulnerable, conscious and human version of myself.

I truly believe that this experience was gifted to me to pull me into radical alignment, to call me into my higher purpose and to help prepare me for the greatest role of my life… a mother.

I see so many synchronicities between my expansion into survivor and then again into parent. There was a surrendering to the process, an opportunity to choose how I was going to stand up for myself and a trust that I knew exactly what to do in each moment.

Understanding my shadows has allowed me to embrace parenthood with more presence, more reverence and more joy.

I now know that my life’s purpose is to support birthing people to explore their shadows as well as their light so they can embrace a fully human experience. Because, when we do this for ourselves we inadvertently do this for our children.

I am so proud and humbled to offer this service in ‘The Living Doula’ to my community. Thank you for being here and for opening yourself up to my story.
